The large fish is exactly the same size as the small fish I know as I have measured them and have weighed them it is not really fair to charge more for the same sized fish probably illegal under weights and measures law.
I returned in January 26 and found the fish gas now been even more reduced in size to what other chip shops call fish bites! The chips used to be nice here but are now dry and tasteless and the peas are very dry no liquid reaching the chips at all. Sadly much worse now than on my first visit. As a reviewer I am giving it 1 star and they get that for the parking and friendliness. If I owed a fish and chip shop I would be asking family to sample the food and to give me some honest feedback so that I could improve my business.

Been ordering from Callands for a few years and has been one of our favourite fast food places to order from. However, tonight has been disappointing regarding portion sizes yet same price as before. An example being smaller trays (30% smaller) with our usual fish bites order which were also half the size as usual and probably to fit in the smaller trays (the amount of fish we got was basically a third of a fish and cost more than a fish for some reason). Disappointed as we will not order as often which is a shame.

This is the best takeaway, We have used these before and never had a bad meal. With either a chippy tea or full on chi Chinese banquet you can't go wrong. Food piping hot and always tasty.

For decades, I had visited this chip shop for lunch, though it had been several years since I last came, and it is now under new management. The shop is situated between a convenience shop and a popular pub, and there is plenty of parking available.
Upon entering the shop, I found it to be clean and tidy, and the staff were friendly and polite. Things had changed a little since my previous visits, as the chippy now serves various other foods as well as chippy fare.
The large cod was a good size, not particularly thick, but quite wide and with a delicious freshness to it. The batter was also quite special, and the combination of the two was spot on.
The curry sauce was thick and smooth, with nothing in the way of lumps or pretentiousness. It also had a nice little kick—a curry sauce that would complement most dishes.
The salt-and-pepper siumai was very tasty, and the accompanying onions and peppers were plentiful and fresh. The siumai wasn't really for me—it had a meatball-like texture, with little moisture.
The chips were okay—relatively uniform and slim, but delicious.

Decent chippy to be fair the lunchtime specials are good for what you get, they listen to your dietry requirements as i cant eat peas! service is good young lad and ladies who serve are pleasent enough and polite. Quick service even when busy always advised to use their website if you want your food on time or in a rush to collect.

The Chip Barm is overflowing with perfectly cooked, fluffy chips.
The Special Omelette with chips and peas is well portioned and very tasty, though the omelette mostly tastes like salty bacon.

The chips were great ‘Chippy' chips and the fish was flaky and smooth with a thin, crisp batter. A bit chunky and a peppery taste, it paired really well with the fish and chips.
